What is EBI?


Elmira Business Institute is a privately owned business college in upstate New York. We've been in business since 1858, and we're known for accelerated, convenient courses and cutting-edge, business-minded instructors. We help students train for better careers.

Where is EBI?


EBI has two campuses conveniently located in the heart of upstate New York. Elmira, Vestal and their surrounding communities are hotbeds for career and employment opportunities in the allied health and technology industries.

Who attends EBI?


People come to EBI from all walks of life with one goal: to train for a better career. EBI graduates can be found almost everywhere—legal and medical offices, government agencies and nearly every industrial and commercial organization in the area. You'll find students beginning their first career or training to improve or start a second career.

Can I get financial aid?


Financial aid is available to all students (if qualified), on an individual basis. Call 1-800-843-1812 to find out if you might be eligible for loans, grants or scholarships.

Will I have help finding a job after graduation?


Absolutely. We offer free career placement assistance to all graduates. Our career placement staff will put you in contact with prospective employers, help prepare you for interviews and even review your resume.

What are the instructors like?


The faculty at EBI is committed to your success. They work hard to make sure that you understand and enjoy the course material, and often double as academic advisors and mentors. We've also developed a tutoring program, just in case you need extra help. At EBI, we make it easy to succeed.

Is EBI accredited?


EBI is authorized by the New York State Board of Regents to award the Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) Degree in Accounting, Office Technologies, Medical Assisting, Medical Coding and Reimbursement Specialist, and its programs are registered with the New York State Education Department.

EBI is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award certificates and associate's degrees.

The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. Its accreditation of degree granting institutions is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

The Elmira Business Institute Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (CRB-AAMAE).
