THE CAREER
When a patient receives health care, all documentation is to be maintained by a coding specialist. This includes written observations, records of medical or surgical interventions, prescribed treatments and outcomes. These records also include information provided by the patient and play a vital role in the patient's future medical evaluations and outcomes. These specialists also play a vital role in properly reimbursing physicians and medical facilities through insurance companies and government agencies.

THE PROGRAM
Elmira Business Institute offers a program in billing and coding training. This program will instruct you in every aspect of a medical billing course. Billing classes at EBI include diagnostic and procedural codes, patient information, data retrieval, analysis and claims processing.
